Filmspotting

Check it out: Filmspotting

Filmspotting is a pretty solid show. There's a lot of fluff (the advertising, always with the advertising) and if you don't like some of their "features" ie DVD picks and Massacre Theater than there's a TON of fluff...but that's what the fast forward button is for, right?

When they actually do get around to their discussions, they're some of the most insightful reviews you're going to find. Not only do they cover what's new, but they also do marathons of different directors or eras.

My favorite part about Filmspotting is that I pretty much have no idea what they're going to think about a particular movie. It's always a surprise. Just when you think you have them pinned down, they switch it up on you. It keeps everything really fresh, which is something movie podcasts need more of.

Trailers From Hell

Check it out: Trailers From Hell

The Trailers form Hell is actually a video podcast, but I'm sticking it on the list because it's just so damn good. TFH's concept is basically this...each episode is a class movie preview or comic attraction with a voice over from a famous director...but not the director of that movie. Make sense?

The directors talk about why it's such a wonderful or awful trailer. Not only is it entertaining to watch, but it's also a great place to find out about new movies.
